Abdelrahman Salman

Abdelrahman Salman is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon in Syria whose work focuses on keratoconus, corneal imaging and refractive surgery. Recent publications list affiliations with Al-Mashrek Laser Vision Center in Tartous and the Department of Ophthalmology at Latakia University, and earlier papers give roles as honorary clinical lecturer at Tishreen University and scientific director of the Tartous Specialist Eye Center. Research topics include a population-based study of keratoconus prevalence in Syria; the detection of keratoconus and suspect keratoconus with Sirius topography indices, corneal higher-order aberrations and epithelial thickness mapping; standard and accelerated corneal cross-linking, including in children; and the assessment of corneal ectasia after LASIK. This work has appeared in journals including the European Journal of Ophthalmology, BMC Ophthalmology and the Journal of Ophthalmology.
