Cathleen McCabe

Cathleen McCabe is an ophthalmic surgeon at The Eye Associates in Sarasota, Florida, United States, where she specialises in complex and premium cataract surgery and refractive surgery. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. McCabe is a past president of the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society, a member of the executive board of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), where she chairs the Sustainability Clinical Committee, and a Co-Chief Medical Editor of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today. She was formerly Chief Medical Officer of Eye Health America and became strategic medical advisor to Bausch + Lomb in 2024. She has taken part in clinical trials of intraocular lenses, perioperative medications, glaucoma medications and devices, dry eye treatments and presbyopia correction.
