Biography
El Haddi Mahfoudi is an anterior segment surgeon in Algeria and the President of the Association des Ophtalmologistes Privés Algériens (AOPA). The association brings together ophthalmologists working in the private sector in Algeria and aims to improve the eye health of the Algerian population through continuing education and good medical practice. It organises national congresses, scientific days, specialised seminars and practical workshops, including its Rencontres d'Ophtalmologie Pratique. The programme of the 12th Rencontres d'Ophtalmologie Pratique, held in Oran in January 2025, introduced Dr. Mahfoudi as the association's new president, with priorities that include scientific meetings, support for young ophthalmologists and the association's visibility.
