Jamal Bleik

Jamal H. Bleik is Clinical Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at the Lebanese American University (LAU) Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine and LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital, Beirut, Lebanon. He is also Professor of Ophthalmology at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Medical Sciences. Dr. Bleik earned his medical degree and an MSc in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery at Cairo University and holds the FRCSEd and FRCOphth. He completed fellowships in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, and in ophthalmic genetics at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins, Baltimore. His interests include strabismus, binocular vision, paediatric ophthalmology and cataract surgery. He was President of the Lebanese Ophthalmological Society from 2013 to 2015 and Chairman of the Arab Board of Ophthalmology from 2011 to 2019, and is Secretary General of the Middle East and Africa Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society.
