Mario De La Torre

Mario de la Torre is an ophthalmologist in Lima, Peru, whose work focuses on ocular and orbital ultrasound. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1993 at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, Germany, with a mention in ocular and orbital ultrasound and the qualification magna cum laude. In 2013 he was head of the ultrasound service at the Instituto Nacional de Oftalmología in Lima and secretary of SIDUO, the international society for ultrasound diagnosis in ophthalmology. As of 2023, he was Medical Director of DLT Diagnóstico Oftalmológico and Scientific Director of Quantel Medical by Lumibird. He has given talks on ophthalmic ultrasound and ultrasound biomicroscopy, glaucoma and cataract care, selective laser trabeculoplasty and dry eye disease, including at the SIDUO 2024 meeting.
