Mayank A. Nanavaty

Mayank A. Nanavaty is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon specialising in cataract, cornea and refractive surgery at the Sussex Eye Hospital, University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, Brighton, United Kingdom, and an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. He qualified in medicine at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India, and completed a cataract and anterior segment fellowship in India, a cataract and intraocular lens clinical research fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital, London, and a corneal and refractive surgery fellowship at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. He is Honorary Secretary of the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, sits on the Scientific Committee of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and examines for its Certificate of Laser Refractive Surgery. His research covers astigmatism, wavefront aberrations, corneal ectasia, endothelial disease, lamellar keratoplasty, intraocular lenses and posterior capsule opacification.
