Miguel Rechichi

Miguel Rechichi is an ophthalmologist and anterior segment surgeon at Centro Polispecialistico Mediterraneo in Sellia Marina, Catanzaro, Italy, an outpatient eye surgery clinic that Dr. Rechichi co-founded. Clinical interests include laser-assisted refractive surgery, keratoconus and corneal cross-linking. Before specialty training Dr. Rechichi volunteered at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, and later attended Prof. Amar Agarwal's group for several years. After specialty training came work as a refractive surgeon at clinics in Calabria and, from 2009, work with Cosimo Mazzotta on developing accelerated corneal cross-linking techniques. Consulting work covers complex refractive surgery and keratoconus cases for private clinics in Sicily and Campania, and the clinic offers surgical training both on site and at a distance. Published research covers keratoconus and cross-linking, cataract surgery in complex anterior segment disease, endothelial keratoplasty, dry eye disease and the ocular surface microbiome.
