Mostafa El Manhaly

Mostafa El Manhaly is an ophthalmologist at the Alexandria iCare Retina Reading Center in Alexandria, Egypt, a reading center that grades ultrawide field retinal images for diabetic retinopathy screening. Published work focuses on medical retina, including diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema and anti-VEGF treatment. Earlier studies from the Ophthalmology Department of the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, looked at ziv-aflibercept for diabetic macular edema and at knowledge of genetics in familial retinoblastoma. Recent publications from the reading center examine artificial intelligence for diabetic retinopathy screening, triage of vision-threatening retinopathy using patient-reported data, and three-year trends in ultrawide field imaging referrals.
