Namrata Sharma

Namrata Sharma is a Professor of Ophthalmology in the Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery Services at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. She did her postgraduate training at the same centre and a fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, and holds the FRCOphth and FRCSEd. Her work covers corneal disease and transplantation, including lamellar keratoplasty, ocular surface surgery and keratoprosthesis, as well as cataract and refractive surgery. She is Treasurer of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology for 2025 to 2027, after two terms as its Regional Secretary, and has chaired the Scientific Committee of the All India Ophthalmological Society. She has served as President of the Cornea Society of India and as Vice President of the Eye Bank Association of India. Her awards include the APAO Senior Achievement Award in 2023.
