Nihal Adel Hassan

Nihal Adel Hassan is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, in Cairo, Egypt, with clinical work at Kasr Al-Ainy Hospital. Prof. Hassan has co-authored research on the optic nerve and ocular imaging, including a review of how to distinguish papilledema from pseudopapilledema, a study of ultrasound-measured optic nerve sheath enlargement and Frisen grading of chronic papilledema in idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and a case report of unilateral papilledema with bilateral optic nerve sheath distension. Earlier work used spectral-domain optical coherence tomography to study subfoveal choroidal thickness in diabetic macular edema.
