Robert Kersten

Robert C. Kersten is Professor (Clinical) of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and an oculoplastic surgeon at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, United States. He earned his MD at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive and orbital surgery. He treats congenital and acquired disorders of the soft tissues and bones around the eyes in adults and children, and performs cosmetic eyelid and upper facial surgery. Before joining Moran in 2023 he was chief of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He directs Moran's ASOPRS-approved oculoplastic fellowship and is a former editor of the American Academy of Ophthalmology textbook on eyelid, orbital and lacrimal surgery. His honours include the AAO Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2021 Dortzbach Award from ASOPRS.
