Safwan Al Bayati

Safwan Al Bayati is a consultant ophthalmologist and Medical Director of New Vision Eye Center, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He graduated from Baghdad Medical College, completed his first ophthalmic fellowship with the Iraqi Commission of Medical Specialization (FICMS) in 1998, and holds the FRCS in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the FACS from the American College of Surgeons. He had fellowship training in phaco-vitrectomy under Dr. Frank Koch at the Department of Ophthalmology of Frankfurt University, Germany, and trained in LASIK in Munich. His work covers both anterior and posterior segment surgery, including cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses, vitrectomy and retinal care, LASIK and surface ablation, and corneal cross-linking and implantable collamer lenses for keratoconus. He is on the scientific committee of the 7th MEOM International Conference.
