Suhail A. R. Doi

Suhail A. R. Doi is Head of the Department of Population Medicine and Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the College of Medicine, QU Health, Qatar University, Doha, Qatar. He trained as a clinical endocrinologist, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and moved into clinical epidemiology after becoming a consultant, earning a master's degree and a PhD in clinical epidemiology in Australia. His research focuses on evidence synthesis methods: he developed the QE and IVhet methods of meta-analysis and the Doi plot for assessing publication bias, and many of these methods are available as Stata modules. He also works on outcomes research in endocrinology, metabolism, obesity and diabetes, and has written two books on clinical epidemiology.
