Wisam Shihadeh

Wisam Shihadeh is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan, and a consultant ophthalmologist in glaucoma, cornea and refractive surgery at King Abdullah University Hospital. He completed his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at Jordan University of Science and Technology, followed by research and clinical glaucoma fellowships at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and a clinical fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. He was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University from 2016 to 2020 and earlier headed the ophthalmology department at King Abdullah University Hospital. He is vice president of the Jordanian Ophthalmological Society and a member of the Jordanian Ophthalmology Board examination committee. His published work covers glaucoma surgery, exfoliation syndrome and exfoliative glaucoma, the Boston keratoprosthesis, and complications of anterior segment procedures.
